Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 Latest Update

Harley-Davidson has finally launched the Pan America 1250 adventure bike in India. There are two variants on offer: Base and Special. The more affordable base variant is priced at Rs 16,90,000, whereas the top-spec Special at Rs 19,99,000 (both prices, ex-showroom India). The motorcycle was unveiled globally back in February this year.

Its brand new powertrain, the Revolution Max 1252cc 60-degree V-twin liquid-cooled motor, churns out 152.2PS and 127Nm. The counterbalanced motor comes with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) technology for an optimum balance of low-end grunt and top-end drive. It works in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. The powertrain is enhanced by a host of electronic aids, including multiple rider modes, cornering-enhanced ABS, traction control, and engine brake control. The bike also gets hill-hold control as standard.

For suspension, it uses an inverted front fork and a rear mono-shock, both fully adjustable. The Special variant gets semi-active suspension on both ends, along with an optional Adaptive Ride Height feature, that brings down the seat height from 869mm to 830mm when the bike is static. This should help shorter riders to get on and off the bike easily. The motorcycle rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with block pattern Michelin Scorcher Adventure tyres. Braking is via twin 320mm discs and a rear 280mm unit.

The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 will compete with the BMW R 1250 GS, Honda CRF 1100L Africa Twin, and the upcoming Ducati Multistrada V4 and Triumph Tiger 1200.
