Honda CB500X Latest Update

We’ve ridden the CB500X and it’s safe to say we were thoroughly impressed by it. But we did encounter a few problems with it too. Head here for details.

Honda launched its first mid-displacement adventure tourer in the country, the 2021 Honda CB500X, at Rs 6,87,386 ex-showroom in May 2021. After a price reduction of Rs 1,08,036, the motorcycle now retails at Rs 5,79,952. Check out the latest price list of all Honda two-wheelers here.

 Honda CB500X Price:

The Honda CB500X BS6 is priced at Rs 5,79,952 (ex-showroom, Gurugram). The CB500X is available in two colours: red and black.

 Honda CB500X Features:

The Honda CB500X is sleek and compact, making it less intimidating than other ADVs in the market. It features a front beak like most ADVs, LED lighting all around, a full-digital instrument console with gear position and gear shift-up indicator, a tall windscreen, and dual-channel ABS. Also worth mentioning is Honda's smart ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system which detects sudden braking and automatically activates the hazard lights. Besides, the bike also comes equipped with the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) that automatically disables the starting of the engine by means of electronic control.

 Honda CB500X Engine:

The CB500X is powered by a BS6-compliant 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor that makes a leisurely 47PS and 43Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed transmission. The gearbox even gets a slip-and-assist clutch. While the engine performance sounds a bit dull, it's the character of the motor that'll keep you engaged. The motor puts down its power in a linear and stress-free manner -- ideal for touring.

 Honda CB500X Suspension & Brakes:

The bike’s hardware comprises a long-travel telescopic fork adjustable for preload and a 9-step preload-adjustable mono-shock. It's 19- and 17-inch front and rear cast aluminium alloy wheels come wrapped with 110- and 160-section tyres. Braking is via a single 310mm front and a 240mm rear petal disc brake. It gets a generous 17.5-litre fuel tank and a seat height of 830mm.

 Honda CB500X Rivals:

The CB500X competes against the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Benelli TRK 502. You could also take a look at the KTM 390 Adventure which offers pretty much the same performance at a much more affordable price point.
