Honda CBR650R Latest Update

Prices of Honda two-wheelers have gone up for April 2022. If you are planning to buy a Honda two-wheeler, check out the new prices here.

Honda launched the 2022 BS6 CBR650R in India in January 2022. The new bike only gets subtle graphics revision and no other changes. Even the red and black color options remain the same.

Honda CBR650R Price

The BS6-compliant Honda CBR650R is priced at Rs 9,34,600 (ex-showroom Mumbai). It’s available in two colors: red and black. Bookings for the bike have started exclusively via Honda Big Wing Topline dealerships across India.

Honda CBR650R Features

It comes with a switchable HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control), a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch and all-LED lighting. These aside, the CBR650R gets a full digital display with two trip meters and information such as fuel gauge and average fuel consumption. It also has a clock, gear position, and shift indicator.

Not to mention Honda’s ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) technology, which automatically activates the hazard lights in case of sudden braking, and an Ignition Security System (HISS) -- Honda’s lingo for an anti-theft system.

Honda CBR650R Engine

Strict emissions norms have taken a toll on the bike’s performance. While it uses the same 648.72cc liquid-cooled inline-four mill (albeit BS6-compliant), it has been detuned to make 87PS at 12000rpm and 57.5Nm at 8500rpm -- 1PS and 3Nm less than the BS4 bike. The engine works alongside a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch.

Honda CBR650R Suspension & Brakes

The front suspension comprises a 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston USD fork while the rear gets a pro-link mono-shock. Its braking setup consists of twin discs paired with Nissin radial-mounted calipers up front and a single disc brake at the rear.

Honda CBR650R Rivals

The CBR650R competes against the Aprilia RS 660 and the Kawasaki Ninja 650 in its segment. However, if you consider its price, it also takes on the Triumph Trident 660, Triumph Street Triple R, and the Kawasaki Z900.
