Latest Update: Mahindra Thar has received minor changes in a new mild update.
Mahindra Thar Price: The SUV starts from Rs 13.53 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Mahindra Thar Variants: It is offered in two trims: AX(O) and LX.
Mahindra Thar Engine and Transmission: Mahindra offers the Thar in two engine options: a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine (making 150PS and 320Nm) and a 2.2-liter diesel engine (making 130PS and 300Nm). Both are coupled to a six-speed manual transmission and have an optional six-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is available with both powertrains.
Mahindra Thar Features: The Thar comes equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, halogen headlights with LED DRLs, electrically controlled AC, and steering-mounted controls. It also has washable interiors and removable roof panels.
Mahindra Thar Safety: Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill descent control, traction control, rear parking sensors, and a front seatbelt reminder are among Thar's safety features.
Mahindra Thar Rivals: The Mahindra Thar is a direct competitor to the Force Gurkha and upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It also competes with similarly priced compact SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
