BMW R NineT Scrambler Highlights

BMW Motorrad has launched the R nineT Scrambler BS6 in India. Priced at Rs 16,75,000 (ex-showroom India), the bike is dearer by Rs 85,000 over its BS4 predecessor.

The BMW R nineT Scrambler uses the same engine as the BMW R nineT. In its BS6 guise, the motor makes 1PS less, at 109PS. That said, the peak torque is the same at 116Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a shaft final drive. There are two riding modes offered as standard: Rain and Road. BMW also offers a Dirt mode, spoke wheels, and offroad tires as optional fitments.

The bike employs a telescopic front fork and a rear Paralever suspension. It comes with a larger 19-inch front and a smaller rear with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with knobby tires. In terms of rivals, the BMW R nineT Scrambler competes against the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro, which offers more sophisticated electronics and underpinnings while being Rs 5.76 lakh cheaper.
