Ducati XDiavel Highlights

The 2021 Ducati XDiavel has been launched in India. The base Dark variant retails at Rs 18 lakh, whereas the higher-end Black Star costs Rs 22.60 lakh (both ex-showroom India). The latter features a more powerful Brembo M50 radial calipers up front, 2kg lighter wheels, premium cosmetic parts, and an exclusive livery.

The Ducati XDiavel BS6 is powered by a 1262cc liquid-cooled L-twin engine which produces 160PS at 9500rpm (8PS more than before) and 127Nm at 5000rpm (1Nm more). It is reined in by various electronic aids such as three riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban), traction control, launch control, cruise control, and a Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit-enhanced (IMU) cornering ABS.

The bike rides on a fully adjustable inverted front fork and a rear mono-shock that’s adjustable for preload and rebound. The base variant gets Brembo M4.32 radial calipers anchoring the twin 320mm discs. The rear wheel on both bikes uses a 265mm disc with Brembo 2-piston calipers. Both bikes get an all-LED lighting and TFT instrument cluster whereas smartphone connectivity is standard on the Black Star.

The only other rival to the 2021 Ducati XDiavel is the Triumph Rocket 3, which costs Rs 19.35 lakh. The base variant of the XDIavel also undercuts the standard Ducati Diavel 1260 by Rs 49,000.
